The return of the greatest and the well-loved Pinoy Superhero finally took place last night in GMA-7's Telebabad. Once more, Kapuso's top actor Mr. Richard Gutierrez reprises the said role.In the pilot episode, we witnessed how the the story of Teng and "Captain Barbell" continue. The finale of the first "Captain Barbell" happened when Leah (Rhian Ramos) and Teng departed. This departure is the start of Teng's new struggle!
Aside from Leah who will soon leave Teng after being killed, who are the other good characters around the life of Teng and "Captain Barbell"?!
GMA-7 already released promotional pictures of the main characters of this much-awaited fantasy TV series. These characters were divided into good and bad groups. Let's first meet the good ones!
Here are the good persons around "Captain Barbell"! They formed a group called "Liga ng Kalayaan"! Here they are:
'Liga ng Kalayaan' is a group of extraordinary people that will help Captain Barbell to fight the major opponent in the story, Nero, played by the great actor, Christopher de Leon. This group is headed by Riichard's real-life father Eddie Gutierrez playing the role of Gen. Armando.General Armando is a rich philanthropist, joins forces with Captain Barbell, and urges him to pool together the new league of superheroes.
Other members of the 'Liga ng Kalayaan' are Bianca King as Lary, General Armando’s fearless assistant; Mike Tan as Teban, a former thief-turned-ally of Captain Barbell; Jake Vargas as Alden, a young superhero who has a top as his weapon of choice; Bea Binene as Misha, another young superhero who wields power with her sword; and Frencheska Farr as Celina, the superheroine with a sonic voice.
As Captain Barbell/Teng braves the dark forces, he will also struggle with matters of the heart as he tries to uncover whom between his kind next-door neighbor Melanie (Isabel Oli) and Lelay’s school teacher Althea (Lovi Poe) received Leah’s heart. He will also cross paths with two other ladies who will likewise play important roles in his life, his arrogant boss Anita (Michelle Madrigal) and the avid news reporter Jana (Solenn Heusaff).
illian Ward stars as the superhero’s sidekick/pseudo-adopted daughter named Lelay.
